Curriculum
l Inception module of 3 weeks in London, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London
An intensive module covering the history, business, culture and modern society of both Japan and Korea.
l Immersion module of 30 weeks in Tokyo, Waseda University or Seoul, Yonsei University
A business and language training course run by leading universities in Japan or Korea
l Internship of 12 weeks in Japanese or Korean companies
An internship in a Japanese or Korean company to apply the acquired skills and knowledge in practice
Who can participate?
The Executive Training Programme targets both EU executives and companies with a clear readiness to do business with Japan or Korea
Minimum requirements for EU executives
l Be a citizen of one of the Member States of the European Union
l Be employed by a sponsoring company
l Demonstrate an excellent command of English
l Have not previously participated in the ETP
l Either have (a) a university degree of B.A. level + 3 years of professional experience as an executive or
(b) 2 years of higher education + 5 years of professional experience as an executive
Minimum requirements for EU companies
l Either (a) have exports or investments in Japan or Korea or (b) have plans to develop exports or investments in one of the countries or (c) provide support to European companies in developing exports or investments to Japan or Korea
l Be EU-based/owned, have the global headquarters located in the EU, have a European identity and produce goods or services of EU origin
l Employ a minimum of 5 people and have an annual turnover of € 1 million or more
l Be committed to contributing towards a part of the living expenses of the participant throughout the programme
l Be committed to maintaining the employment link with the participant for the duration of the programme
The European Commission helps European executives by:
l Funding the entire training course of 45 weeks run by internationally recognized universities
l Providing a scholarship of 26,400€ for Japan (2,200€ a month) and 24,000€ for Korea (2,000€ a month) for each participant
l Sponsoring companies are encouraged to contribute additionally to the living expenses of the participant.
